First Ever Race to Zero Carbon 5K & 10K Recap

Thank you so much to all who came out on Saturday morning, May 21, 2016, to support the first ever ‪#‎RacetoZeroCarbon‬! We had such a great time at the race and we hope you did too. Congratulations to the runners! And to all who participated in the Zero Carbon Coaching Clinic! It was truly wonderful to see so many people engaged in conversations about how to get New Jersey ALL THE WAY to net zero carbon emissions!

A big thank you to Derek for taking so many awesome pictures and for posting this action packed video of the event.

If you are posting pictures/video on social media, be sure to use hashtag ‪#‎RacetoZeroCarbon‬. We’d love to see the race from your perspective! Give us a shout-out on Twitter @Footprint2Wings and here on Facebook! I think we have an Instagram account too - where was that thing?

Volunteer Alert! Would you like to take charge of our social media and picture management? We would be most appreciative!

Proclamations were made!

#‎Proclamations‬ were made! We would like to extend our deepest thanks to Mayor Chris Shoffner of South Bound Brook and Council member Beverly Pranzatelli of Bound Brook, who came in person to proclaim that the Boroughs of South Bound Brook and Bound Brook have joined the Race to Zero Carbon. We were also honored to receive a letter of encouragement from Senator Cory Booker and a resolution from Assemblyman Andrew Zwicker.

What’s Next? National Pastime!

On May 21, we raced to zero carbon symbolically with a 5K, 10K in a lovely park.

But symbolism can only take you so far. We all know we have to do much more. We have to race to zero carbon for real, in all fields of our lives. And we have to win this race in all fields. It seems overwhelming, but we’re here to help you! Don’t panic, focus.

How will we win the race? Step by step. Check out the first video and let’s get this party started!
